This blend of indigenous Portuguese varieties with Syrah seems to work very well. A little smoky spice on the nose doesn’t become too dominant on the palate and the feeling is that the soil is what most comes through on the palate and the finish. It is a ripe and full wine that has flavours of dark berries and plums. The body is very smooth and the structure bears its weight very well.
